YWCA Kenya appoints new National General Secretary

The Young Women’s Christian Association of Kenya has appointed Deborah Olwal-Modi as the new National General Secretary as from 4th January 2018 following the approval of the National Board in accordance with section 5.0.1 (b) of the Human Resource Policy July 2015. Before Ms. Olwal joined YWCA of Kenya she had served as the Executive Director of the Cancer Association, National Coordinator for the Health NGO’s Network (HENNET), Health Coordinator for World Neighbors and Assistant Training Coordinator for Kenya Medical Association. Ms. Olwal holds a Master of Science in Development Management, Masters in Public Health and a Bachelor of Education (Arts). Furthermore Ms. Olwal served in several Boards including the Kenya NGO’s Network against Malaria (KEENAM) and Health NGO’s Network (HENNET). She was also a member of GAVI CSO Steering Committee.

Ms. Olwal brings to the organization extensive experience in leadership, strategy execution and sound people management. YWCA of Kenya Chairperson Jane K.
