Brief history

In 1950, the foundation of Mombasa Branch was laid by Lady Baden Powell. Kizingo Hostels were meant to provide accommodation to nurses during the World War 2. After that, it provided accommodation to young girls and women students in colleges or in employment and did not have a place to stay. Apart from accommodation, the core objective of YWCA is to empower women to live fulfilled lives.
